In the role of Assistant Supervisor outbound you will be reporting to Supervisor outbound.
You are responsible for on-time shipping within the European Distribution Centers of Vanderlande, and partly of the picking process. You will work physically from the DC in Veghel and/or Erp and you are part of the Stock to Site team. You will be part of a team of 20-30 FTE with whom you ensure high shipping quality and accuracy levels.
Responsibilities
As an Assistant Supervisor you are playing a key role in ensuring the smooth logistics processes from picking until shipping within the EDC. You will be responsible for resolving process and logistic challenges, creating and maintaining process descriptions, and developing and tracking Key Performance Indicators (KPIs). Moreover, the role involves acting as the primary contact point for all warehouse management system (WMS) related matters, both internally and externally.
Your key responsibilities include:
- Achieving the set targets for productivity and efficiency within the department
- Serving as first point of contact for all related WMS systems and ensuring the systems functionality, together with the WMS experts within PhD.
- Defining, refining and keeping logistical processes up-to-date to ensure operational efficiency
- Being accountable for the development and monitoring of the KPI’s within the EDC
- Taking ownership of shipping accuracy
- Execute daily stand-up meetings together with your team
- Manage daily operation and take responsibility for the on-time picking/shipping
- Execute weekly performance conversations with employees and document the results
- Taking ownership of effectively training (new) employees
- Follow up on quality accuracy of the items within the Warehouse.
- Continuous improvement aspects within outbound
- Contribute to optimize performance on all KPIs related to outbound, such as: on-time shipping, planned output vs actual output, quality KPI’s, accuracy on picked lines

- You have a profound understanding of Distribution Center processes
- You like to identify issues and find practical solutions for day-to-day challenges
- You are pro-active and ready to take ownership within different processes
- You are ambitious and independent with a practical and action-oriented approach
- Experience with Locus is a plus
- You have a MBO (level 4) degree preferably within the field of logistics
- Having at least 2 years’ experience in a warehousing environment is a plus
- You have strong communication and stakeholder alignment skills
