The Business Unit Food Processing & Packaging (FPP) offers leading processing technology for the poultry, meat, fish, vegetarian and meat-replacement markets. Their portfolio contains stand-alone and or complete automated lines, which can be integrated with freezing and packaging solutions.
They are seeking a dynamic leader ready to take full responsibility for driving operational excellence and creating value across their Bakel facility. In this role, the Director of Procurement will lead and develop a world-class Procurement organization in line with GEA Global guidelines, leading to excellent delivery performance, lowest integral cost levels, best quality, and optimal working capital.
Tasks Director Procurement:
- Develop and deploy a procurement strategy which includes short-, mid- and long-term goals towards the most resilient and cost-effective supply chain
- Further develop GEA Food Solutions Bakel Procurement department (~20 FTE) to a high performing team, driving continuous improvements and learning resulting in a best-in-class organization
- Foster collaboration between the 3 teams in Procurement as well as across Operations, Order Management, Engineering, Sales and Service departments within the Bakel Food Solutions facility and Global GEA Procurement & Category Management team
- Drive towards cost savings on COGS, modularization, early Procurement & supplier involvement in New Product development and lead-time reductions
- Improve Supplier Performance on QLTC (Quality, Lead time, Technology & Costs) as well as Environmental and Safety initiatives
- Define and manage the Procurement expectations and deliverables for the New Product Development and Product Owner Teams
- Drive creation and improvement of best practice based processes including administrative processes and master data management, leading towards significant efficiencies and lower conversion cost versus spend
- Encourages innovative/out of the box initiatives using new smart technologies like digi, automation, robotization, 3D printing etc.
- Reporting to Senior Director of Operations and performance reporting into the Head of Procurement at GEA FHT Division

For the location in Bakel, we are looking for an enthusiastic and energetic Director of Procurement.

- Bachelor’s or master’s degree in Business Administration / Supply Chain, Mechanical Engineering or Industrial Engineering
- 10 years relevant experience with proven track record in Strategic Purchasing and Supply Chain Management, preferable in a High-Mix Low-Volume production environment
- Result driven leader in Procurement, a collaborative and people manager
- Strong analytical capabilities and problem-solving skills
- Interpersonal skills persuasion, perseverance, conviction and well-argued reasoning
- Good command of English and Dutch required
