We are seeking a highly skilled and enthusiastic Assistant Supervisor to join our team at Vanderlande. As a key member of our global supply chain organization, you will be responsible for the allocation and accuracy of all incoming materials within Physic

In the role of Assistant Supervisor Inbound you will be reporting to the Inbound Supervisor. You are responsible for accuracy on the receiving process in the European Distribution Centers of Vanderlande. You will work physically from the DC in Veghel, and you are part of the Dock to Stock team. You will be part of a team of 20 colleagues with whom you ensure high quality and process accuracy.

Responsibilities

  • Manage daily operation based on workload and capacity.
  • Lead and manage the team on the work floor by providing clear guidance and support.
  • Monitor performance of each team member and provide feedback to supervisor.
  • Monitor the quality on the receiving process of goods.
  • Implement and promote TPS Tools & Culture.

Manage Floor Operations: Manage daily operation within the assigned area to ensure smooth workflow. Take responsibility for task progress, quality, and timely completion of department activities by actively coordinating the team based on the daily workload

Optimize Staffing and Workload: Advise / inform your supervisor about staffing to make sure the team is not over-/ understaffed based on the daily workload.

Monitor Performance Metrics: Track key performance indicators (KPIs) related to the operational processes.

Handle Reporting and Administration: Ensure accurate documentation and timely reporting of operational data, contributing to transparency and accountability in the department.

Motivate and Develop Team: Foster a collaborative work environment by promoting teamwork and open communication. Guide team members in adhering to processes and standards to maintain compliance with EDC protocols. Identify gaps, and support on development. 

People Management: Execute job interviews together with your supervisor for hiring new employees. Have a weekly performance conversation with employees and document the results. Provide feedback to supervisor.

Enforce Safety and Compliance: Follow up company policies, safety regulations, and VI (Vanderlande Industries) standards to ensure a safe work environment. Lead by example!

Lead Daily Meetings: Conduct daily stand-ups or team meetings to review performance, share weekly updates with supervisor and set clear expectations for team members.

Drive Continuous Improvement: Identify opportunities for operational improvement and actively engage in projects focused on efficiency and quality enhancement, including Toyota Production System (TPS) methodologies. Provide at least 2 kaizens per year

Manage Issue Resolution: Coordinate with relevant departments to address operational issues and customer complaints, ensuring effective and prompt problem-solving.





  • You have a profound understanding of Distribution Center processes
  • You like to identify issues and find practical solutions for day-to-day challenges
  • You are pro-active and ready to take ownership within different processes
  • You are ambitious and independent with a practical and action-oriented approach
  • Experience with JDE, Vision and/or Locus is a plus
  • You have a MBO (level 4) degree preferably within the field of logistics
  • Have 3 years of experience in a warehousing environment
  • You have strong communication and stakeholder alignment skills
