As a Security Engineer at Vitestro, you will be pivotal in securing our device and its connectivity with various systems. Your key responsibilities
- As a Security Engineer, you will work in an agile environment to:
- Take an active role in securing our device and all its integrations, with a focus mainly on controls at the operating system level
- Collaborate with other Security Engineers and Cloud Engineers to enable external connections of the device
- Support colleagues with security expertise through active collaboration with engineers from diverse disciplines, fostering a culture of shared knowledge and expertise
- Contribute to technical controls for certification efforts, including ISO27001 and NEN7510, ensuring compliance and security standards are met, thereby building trust with both internal stakeholders and external clients,
- Develop solutions suitable for the medical industry: patient safety, security, and compliance are essential

By combining AI-powered ultrasound and precision robotics, our team has developed the world’s first autonomous blood-drawing device. This innovation will revolutionize healthcare by enhancing efficiency and precision in patient care. As we approach a major milestone with the launch of our device to our first customers at the end of 2024, we are looking for passionate individuals to join our team as we expand further into European and US markets in the years ahead.
You will be employed by YER and seconded to Vitsetro. We offer:

Job requirements
- What you will bring
- At least 3 years of experience in a security engineering role
- Solid technical knowledge in Linux, security of Linux, containerization, embedded systems and IoT
- Contribute to the implementation of relevant cloud security controls and infrastructure, necessary for the online features of the Device
- Working knowledge of attack vectors, network protocols and packet analysis
- Experience with scripting (Bash or Powershell) and programming with Python
Nice to have:
- Experience with embedded Linux distributions and tools to create those distributions (Yocto and similar)
- Familiarity reviewing and/or writing C++ code
- Working knowledge of Infrastructure as Code (IaC) and CI/CD
- Exposure to the medical device industry and related standards
- Familiarity with these topics is a plus, but we're most interested in someone eager to learn and grow. We are committed to supporting you every step of the way on your learning journey
