Interim Process Engineer - C2CA Technology B.V.

We are currently recruiting an experienced Interim Process Engineer who will play a pivotal role in the mission our client C2CA. This position is designed for a hands-on engineer who is also oriented towards continuous improvement, to optimize and implement the processing technology as the client will scale globally.

The candidate will be responsible for the development, implementation, and optimization of the concrete upcycling processes and have the ambitions to grow into a leadership position heading the entire process department. This will be crucial for enhancing operations. Additionally, the candidate will collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure the processes meet the highest standards of quality and sustainability.

Your responsibilities will extend to overseeing process improvements, supporting new facility setups, and ensuring compliance with industry regulations. Working closely with the engineering and operations teams, you will help drive our mission to create sustainable building materials.

Responsibilities:

• Design, develop, and optimize our concrete upcycling processes to enhance efficiency and the quality of our output products.
• Take over the ownership of our own C2CA key technologies and support in developing the next generation machines.
• Facilitate technical discussions with our suppliers to ensure the most efficient process standards
• Lead the implementation and commissioning of our new processes and technologies at our facilities.
• Ensure all processes meet the required quality standards and regulatory requirements.
• Identify and implement process improvements and cost-saving strategies.
• Collaboration: Work closely with all relevant teams to achieve process excellence.
• Assist in the set-up and optimization of new facilities worldwide.
• Develop and maintain detailed process documentation and standard operating procedures.
• Train and mentor junior engineers and technicians.

C2CA Technology is a pioneering startup company upcycling waste concrete into drop-in substitutes to aggregate, sand and supplementary cementitious material. Founded in 2016 by Delft Enterprises, Delft University, and GBN, they have a bold mission to transform waste concrete into sustainable building materials and mitigate a staggering 8% of global CO2 emissions.

Their advanced processing and quality control technologies are already making a difference at the demonstration site in Hoorn, the Netherlands. Building on this success, they are determined to achieve 100% circular concrete with their commercial facility in S’Gravendeel.

• Bachelor or Masters of Doctorate in Chemical Engineering, Process Engineering, or related field.
• Minimum of 5 years in process engineering, preferably in the construction materials or recycling industry.
• Strong expertise in process design, optimization, and implementation.
• Proficient in data analysis and process simulation software.
• Ability to troubleshoot and resolve complex process issues.
• Excellent communication skills for cross-functional collaboration and technical documentation.
• Flexible in a dynamic startup environment.
• Commitment to sustainable practices and industrial decarbonization.
• Fluent in English, additional languages a plus.
• Open to traveling between home, office and production location.
• Competent with process engineering software and tools.
