Embedded Software Engineer / Medior - Senior - DAF Trucks N.V.

As Embedded Software Engineer you will be part of an experienced international team of the Application Software Department of DAF Embedded Engineering which is primary located in Eindhoven, the Netherlands and has an office in Pune, India. Embedded Engineering works closely together with PACCAR Embedded Engineering located in Renton (near Seattle), the USA. With over 180 highly skilled people today, we deliver world class engineering in the domains of engine controllers and vehicle controllers. Our full model-based software development process is unique in the industry. Our products developed within Embedded Engineering are applied on DAF trucks but also in the famous PACCAR brands Kenworth and Peterbilt. Through component sales our products are used by leading bus and coach manufacturers.

PACCAR is a global technology leader in the design, manufacture and customer support of premium light-, medium- and heavy-duty trucks under the Kenworth, Peterbilt and DAF nameplates. PACCAR also designs and manufactures advanced diesel engines, provides financial services, information technology, and distributes truck parts related to its principal business.

We are looking for experienced candidates to support our Software Development Team in Eindhoven, which currently consists of about 50 software engineers. In this case, especially in the area of integration and build. We are looking for someone with the following profile:

• You have a Bachelor or a Master Degree in Software Engineering, Informatics, Computer Science or equivalent – we are looking for software engineers.
• You are a software engineer and actually know design patterns and have at least 6 years of experience: Python, C, C++ (or equivalent)
• You have worked with Matlab/Simulink & Stateflow
• You are familiar with CI/CD
• You are used to working in Agile/Scrum teams.
• You know your Azure Devops, GitHub, GitHub Actions, Github Runners, or equivalent

Not mandatory but highly appreciated if you have experience with the following:

• Automotive (you are a software programmer who actually fixes his own car, instead of an automotive engineer who did some programming on the side)
• You have projects on GitHub (or equivalent) which you can show and tell about during the interview (does not to be automotive related -can be any software project even an app for a mobile phone or some backend services)
• And last but not least: willing to learn and show perseverance, but also taking initiative to continuous improvement.

It would be really nice if we get a candidate who actually knows what an AND port is (believe it or now, we get senior candidates who don’t have a clue). We are looking for more senior candidates who are people-oriented and eager to coach and teach our junior team technical skills. We would like an entrepreneur who is not afraid to explore uncharted territories.
