For Howden Thomassen Compressors in Rheden (nearby Arnhem) we are looking for a Financial Controller
The Financial Controller ensures that the financial information is timely and of high standards. Furthermore the financial controller is involved in financial analysis of transactions, balance sheet positions and is a business partner to the bottom line of our P&L.
What needs to be done?
Controlling
- Responsible for reliable, valid, complete and accurate balance sheet and profit & loss positions.
- Manage and coordinate month-end closing processes and monitor reporting.
- Conduct regular reviews of financial processes to identify areas for improvement.
Budgeting and Forecasting
- Collaborate with department heads to develop and manage the quarterly forecast and annual budget.
- Monitor financial performance against budget and provide variance analysis.
- Assist in the preparation of financial forecasts and projections.
Cash Management
- Oversee cash flow management, including forecasting and optimizing working capital.
Financial Analysis & Partnering
- Conduct in-depth financial analysis to support strategic decision-making.
- Provide financial insights and recommendations to management and pro-actively support botttom-line department with analysis.
Audit and Compliance
- Manage external audits and ensure timely completion.
- Stay informed about changes in accounting regulations and ensure compliance.
- Ensure compliance with company policies, procedures and maintain robust internal controls (SOx).

- Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, or a related field.
- Proven experience (3 – 5 years) in financial controlling.
- Self-starter, eager to understand the full process.
- Highly skilled in Excel.
- Attention to detail and problem-solving abilities.
- Experience with ISAH/Dynamics 365F&O is an advantage.
- Extensive experience with project administration (e.g. Percentage of Completion).
- Fluent English language skills, both verbal and in writing (fluent in Dutch, both verbal and in writing is a bonus).
