In this position, you will support on acquisitions in investment and divestment activities. You will bring your strong analytical skills to the table, transforming insights into actionable strategies that inform key investment decisions for VIA Outlets.

You will assist in evaluating property assets and portfolios, performing detailed financial analyses, and staying up to date of the latest market trends and competitor transactions. Your expertise will be crucial in researching and evaluating specific countries or geographical locations, analyzing local retail market trends, and preparing comprehensive materials for presentations.

In divestment, you will assist in preparing assets for sale by analyzing operational data, ensuring data accuracy and consistency, and managing Q&A sessions with potential buyers. Your meticulous attention to detail will help in creating well-organized and clean materials.

As an Investment Analyst, you will also support the underwriting of potential investment opportunities, thoroughly reviewing incoming investment materials, conducting side research, and performing data validation and sanity checks on large datasets. Your ability to synthesize information from credible sources and present clear conclusions will be essential.

In this role, you report directly to the Investment Director.

Your key responsibilities and tasks in this role:

  • Perform detailed analysis of companies, including financial statement analysis (P&L, BS), valuations, review of corporate reporting
  • High-level reviews of technical specifications or characteristics of assets, process technical due diligence reports and extract key findings
  • Prepare specific materials such as graphical maps, complex tables, and other visual aids for presentations
  • Conduct comprehensive research on specific topics, gathering information from credible sources, synthesize the collected information and present conclusions in a clear, concise manner
  • Utilize financial models to support underwriting and investment decisions
  • Partner and collaborate with operations, retail and leasing teams to ensure alignment on analysis

To succeed in this position, you possess the following:

  • A bachelor’s degree 
  • 2 to 3 years of working experience, preferably within real estate. Otherwise, affinity with real estate is a requirement
  • You have (basic) knowledge of investment management, either obtained through studies or work experience
  • Comfortable interacting across all levels of an organisation, from investors to senior management and centre teams
  • A curious mind, a commercial drive and an international outlook
  • An ability to see the bigger picture, and deliver at the highest level, whilst making sure the basics are right and are executed excellently
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong research capabilities
  • Advanced Excel and basic financial modelling skills
  • Understanding of commercial real estate is desirable but not essential
  • Fluency in English - additional languages are not essential but are greatly valued
