Strategic Purchaser Direct Spend - Howden Thomassen Compressors B.V.

• Map out and define the sourcing strategy for designated product commodities
• Responsible for Sourcing, RFQ, negotiation, supplier selection - in line with the overall sourcing strategy, project and business needs
• Optimise the performance of key suppliers on cost reduction, supplier delivery reliability, quality performance and risk mitigation in cooperation with Supplier Quality Engineers and Quality department
• Manage strategic relationship with key suppliers
• Initiate, follow and implement dedicated sourcing projects related to incremental savings
• Discuss internally and implement quality improvements coming from suppliers
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives throughout the organization
• Responsible for the RFQ process for defined categories, compliant with the Howden preferred and approved supplier list or potential suppliers
• Responsible for sourcing and supplier development in accordance with the applicable sourcing process
• Support the Proposals/Sales department during bidding stage also known as the “Advanced Procurement” process
• Work in close relation with the project managers and other project team members to ensure Category and Project compliance in all aspects; best price sourcing, spec compliant delivery, on-time delivery within budget
• Lead contract negotiations with suppliers on all aspects (cost, warranty, payment terms, GTC)
• Settlement of supplier claims in accordance with the applicable contract terms
• Initiate and propose the supplier selection for HTC contracts
• Implement price list and bonus agreements for assigned commodities 
• Work with the Global Category Management organisation, develop and execute the sourcing strategy for HTC to maximize the value of procured services and products
• Optimise the performance of key suppliers including cost reduction, supplier delivery- and quality performance, risk mitigation via systematic processes, process improvements and reoccurring business reviews
• Define the best ‘Order Penetration Point’ for the assigned commodities in line with applicable business needs
• Occasional PO creation and PO placement
