About the Role
We are currently seeking an Electrical Hardware Engineer to join our hardware development (scrum) team. The role involves participating in the development of new or derivative products, specifically in Electronic engineering activities for designing new or derivative printed circuit boards (PCBAs). Key responsibilities include:
- Conceptualizing preliminary electronic designs.
- Selecting components.
- Creating a comprehensive drawing package (Schedule and material lists).
- Collaborating with layout engineers and supervising layout activities.
- Coordinating with suppliers and the Quality Control department.
- Managing testing, qualification, and preparing reports for the release of these products.

Our organization operates in the field of highly qualified radio and network communication, command and control for defense applications, and civil organizations. With a team of around 200 professionals, our Huizen division is an independent entity where product architecture, design, qualification, and production of communication equipment take place. We also handle installation in vehicles and provide customer support.
Within our Huizen division, the Hardware Engineering department comprises approximately 20 employees. The primary focus of this department is to develop and qualify high-quality new products and maintain existing products, encompassing both the mechanical and electronic aspects. The Electronic Hardware Engineer in this department is responsible for designing electronic circuits that lead to the creation of printed circuit board assemblies (PCBAs).

About you
Personal traits:
- Strong team-driven mentality, enjoys working in multidisciplinary teams.
- Easily guided by Product Owner/Architect in technical solutions.
- Thinks along in technical solutions but is open to suggestions and alternatives from others.
- Creative but also critical of your own work and the work of others.
- Pragmatic/doer: easily transitions from theory to practice as soon as possible and justified. Proves first that it works and documents what is needed/requested.
- Flexible: can work on several subjects in parallel or alternately in short succession (based on priorities).
- Previous knowledge and experience working in a SCRUM team is a plus.
You have:
- Demonstrable experience in designing processing platforms (electronic hardware design).
- Proven experience in the development of complex solutions in the digital domain.
- Supervising layout work (conducted by dedicated layouters).
- Extensive experience in developing PCBAs (Printed Circuit Boards Assembly).
- Experience with Design for EMC.
Pre technical features:
- Cadence experience.
- Proficiency in version control tools (GIT).
- Knowledge and experience with intercom systems and/or complex network solutions (i.e., Server/Client solutions).
- Experience with Platform Standards COMe Type 6/7 & SMARC 2.0.
- Knowledge of interface types and associated standards, including Ethernet (including Power over Ethernet), PCIe & M2, USB 2.0/3.0, Video interfaces (DVI/HDMI/DisplayPort), and 10Gb ETH.
Knowledge & Experience:
- Developing military applications and adherence to military standards such as MIL-STD-810G & MIL-STD-461.
- Thermal design, optimizing heat management for processor platforms.
